This is a typewriter made in 1976 in West Germany by Adler for the Swiss based Scheidegger typewriting schools which were started in 1947 by Willy Scheidegger and spread throughout Europe. He developed a method of teaching touch typing by using colour coded plastic caps that fitted over the keys. You would sign up for a course and included in your fee was a typewriter such as this one. The Scheidegger schools lasted up until the late 1980's and their typewriters were supplied by Adler with this model being basically a Gabriele 25. It's in a good working order, types well and is in a nice condition with only a few very minor marks and slight discolouration to the hard plastic body. It's in a dark creme colour with standard charcoal grey keys and shift keys, space bar and carriage knobs and has a standard elite type face giving you 12 letters to the inch.
We have given it a professional clean, service, adjusted and tested it and fitted a new top quality American made ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on. We can supply Universal typewriter ribbons from $14.95 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of other colour options.
The typewriter measures 30 cm across by 34 cm deep by 12 cm high and comes with a standard Adler carry case which is in a good condition with just some marks and scratches in places. The handle and clasp to close work well. We also include a copy of an original Adler instruction manual.
This is a good quality German Adler made typewriter in full working order and is ideal for someone wanting to do extended and larger typing projects.
