The Olivetti Lettera 22 was designed in Italy in 1950 by Marcello Nizzoli and proved to be extremely popular throughout the 1950's winning numerous design awards. It was very portable for the time as it measures 30cm x 30cm x 8cm high and has the usual all metal casing and is in a pale green/blue enamel colour with a light taupe coloured paper plate and round black coloured keys. This model was made in 1959 in Glasgow rather than in Spain, Italy or Mexico and has the Olivetti branding on the right side of the carriage and the Lettera 22 logo on top of the ribbon cover. It has the standard elite sized type face with 11 letters or characters to the inch.
It types very well with a light touch and is in a very good overall condition with just a few marks in places including some minor marks on the underside of the carriage lever.
This typewriter has been professionally serviced, cleaned, adjusted and tested. It is in full working order and fitted with a new top quality American made ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on.
We can supply Universal typewriter ribbons from $16.95 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of Universal ribbons in other colour options. You can either drop in the Universal spools or rewind new ribbon onto the metal Olivetti spools in the machine.
It comes with an Olivetti carry case which is in a very good functional condition with some small marks and signs of wear in places mainly on the outside. The zips and handles works well.
