Typewriter - Imperial, 1960 - The Good Companion 5

 Imperial typewriters were made in Leicester in England and the Good Companion model was first launched in 1932 . It was named after J. B. Priestley's book " The Good Companions" which had been published at the same time and the collaboration with Priestley helped sell a huge number of Imperial typewriters .

This model is a number 5 and was made in 1960 in England and has a metal body in a pale pastel green enamel colour with black keys and dark green shift keys and space bar .It has " Manufactured by the Imperial Typewriter Company Ltd Leicester England " on the back and  the "Imperial " logo badge at the front .  The type on this one is the standard "elite " size giving you 12 letters to the inch.

This typewriter has been professionally cleaned ,serviced, adjusted and tested . It is in full working order and is fitted with a new Group 1 black  ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on !

We can supply Group 1 typewriter ribbons at $12.50 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black, blue and purple. A ribbon will last you a long time and to give you an idea , in an office environment with someone using a typewriter professionally a ribbon would last them around 3 months . 

The typewriter is in an extremely good condition , with the only a few small marks .

It comes with a smart tan coloured  carry case which has a clip to close and 2 clips to hold the typewriter to its base when in transit . The handle is sound and the case is in a nice condition with just a few marks on the inside and outside.

We also include a copy of an original instruction booklet .

 The typewriter measures 32cms by 28 cms by 11 cms high  .

This is a wonderful Mad Men style typewriter in a lovely pastel colour and in good working order and a pretty well mint condition.
