The Olympia typewriter factory split at the end of the Second World War with new production starting in West Germany under the Olympia brand and the old factory which was in East Germany making under the Optima and Erika brand names. This one was made sometime in the 1970's or early 80's and would have been one of the typewriters that were made for export. These machines have a good reputation as quality typewriters and for having a nice "touch". This one is a Mod 42 in good working order and is in a two tone off white and airforce blue colour with charcoal keys. It types well and is in a good condition with only a few minor marks and some slight discolouration. It has the Erika logo on the front and has the standard Erika "elite" sized type face giving you 11 letters to the inch.
This typewriter has been professionally cleaned, serviced, adjusted and tested. It is in full working order and is fitted with a new top quality American made ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on.
We can supply Universal typewriter ribbons from $14.95 each including postage. You would then be best to rewind the new ribbon onto the spools in the machine. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of colours.
The typewriter measures 32 cm across by 32 cm deep by 11 cm high and comes with a black coloured hard vinyl case with red interior lining with pocket. The two latches to close and handle work well. The case has some marks and signs of wear on both the inside and outside, but generally it is in a very good functional condition.
This is a good quality 1980's typewriter in full working order.
