This uncommon Hermes Media typewriter was made in Switzerland in 1942 and is like the Hermes 2000 model but without the tabulator feature. This one is in a lovely shiny gloss black colour with round black keys. It has the original selling agents badge on the back which indicates it was first sold in Rio de Janeiro and it has Spanish accent keys with a standard "qwerty' key layout. The typeface is a standard pica size with 10 letters or characters to the inch.
This typewriter has been professionally cleaned ,serviced, adjusted and tested. It is in full working order, types well and is fitted with a new plain black top quality American made ribbon on metal spools so its all ready for you to start typing on.
We can supply new typewriter ribbons from $16.95 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and other colour options. You can drop the new spools in or rewind the ribbon onto the original metal spools.
It is in a good general condition for its age, with just some small marks and touchups to the paintwork on the metal body at the right hand side and on the space bar. The silver chrome work does have signs of wear in places mainly on the paper bail and on the carriage. It has the Hermes Media decals on the front and agents details on the back.
We include a copy of an original instruction booklet for the Hermes 2000 showing all its features and giving tips such as changing the ribbon. The body of the typewriter measures 30 cm by 29 cm by 12 cm high and comes with a black coloured wooden case which has two chrome metal clasps to close and a handle. The case has a few marks on the inside and out and there is some wear to some of the chrome work on the case closures but is generally in a nice functional condition.
This is a lovely and well made working typewriter in a classic black gloss colour and is a relatively uncommon model.
