The Olivetti Lettera 22 was designed in Italy in 1950 by Marcello Nizzoli and proved to be extremely popular throughout the 1950's winning numerous design awards. It was very portable for the time as it measures 30cm x 30cm x 8cm high. This one has the usual all metal casing and is in a lovely and rare light pistachio green colour and was made in 1958 in Olivetti's Glasgow factory rather than in Italy, Spain or Mexico and has the silver Olivetti branding on the right side of the carriage and the Lettera 22 badge on the top of the ribbon cover. This one has a different colour to the carriage and the standard "elite" sized type face giving you 11 letters to the inch.
It types very well with a light touch. We have given it a professional service, clean, adjusted and tested it and fitted a new top quality American made ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on.
We can supply Universal typewriter ribbons when required from $13.90 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and in a range of coloured options.
There are a few minor marks to the paintwork mainly at the right side corner just next to the ribbon cover and on the back. It comes with it's original carry case which has a two handles and two zips to close. The case does have some marks, scratches and some discolouration on both the inside and the outside and one of the two zips is worn, but it is functional as a carry case.
We also include a photo copy of a Lettera 22 instruction manual.
This is a good working Lettera 22 in a rare and very sought after colour.
