Mocha Smith Corona Ghia

$0.00 AUD

A very cool and collectable 1970's design classic Smith Corona Ghia  typewriter in a retro Mocha colour with white keys in full working condition  .Smith Corona collaborated with famous car designers Tom Tjaarda and Alejandro de Tomaso to produce in England this Ghia typewriter with its car characteristics of sleek lines , "racing stripes " on the lid and rubber treads on the base for feet . It also has a "power space " feature and the Ghia red and blue crest logo on the lid and the Smith Corona badge on the front right side.

We have given it a clean ,service , re lubricated it and fitted a new ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on . This machine is also known as being a well made typewriter which types well and was only made in a teal colour or in an orange colour .

Universal typewriter ribbons can be purchased from many online suppliers or we can supply you with new ribbons when required . They generally cost around $10 including  postage . However a ribbon will last you a long time . To give you an idea , in an office environment with someone using a typewriter professionally a ribbon would last them around 3 months .

It all works and types well and is in a good condition with only a few minor marks and feint scratches and some discolouration mainly at the back  . It has a handle that pulls out from the front so its very portable . It has the Ghia logo on the case top as well as the black racing stripes .The case has two clips to attach it and works well. There is a very small crack at the right front corner of the case which has been glued as well as some marks and scratches to the top of the case.

The typewriter measures 28 cms x 31 cms x 9 cms , so is a good portable size .We also include a copy of a Smith Corona manual.

This is a lovely design classic in a very good working condition and in a lovely colour and with white keys.

"My Olivetti arrived a couple days ago. Got a chance to test it out and it works like a dream (you wouldn’t guess it was nearly half a century old). Thank you for including the original metal spools, it adds a great touch to the machine. Looking forward to adding another typewriter to the collection sometime soon..." - Jake
