1976 Olympia SM9

$0.00 AUD

A lovely two tone Saturn white and Slate grey coloured Olympia SM9 typewriter with grey keys and space bar. Olympia was a German brand of typewriter that was known for their great quality and ease of use and this one was made in West Germany in 1976. It has the Olympia logo on the front and the manufacturers details on the back and the keyset tabulator at the left front side which is the main difference between the SM9 and the SM8. It  types very nicely and has been professionally cleaned, serviced, adjusted and tested and a new ribbon fitted. It is in full working order and this one has the slightly larger "pica" sized typeface  giving you 10 letters to the inch.

We can supply top quality American made Universal typewriter ribbons from $13.90 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of other colour options.

This model has a metal casing and the whole front section lifts up to access the ribbon. The SM portables have a reputation as being "the writers " typewriter and this one certainly types very well and is in an extremely good mint condition with just one very small mark on the ribbon cover. It measures 30 cm by 32 cm by 14 cm high and although classed as a portable is quite heavy. If you are wanting something to carry around a fair bit this may not be the best option, but if you are after a good solid and well made typer this is certainly one to consider.

It comes with a standard Olympia dark grey carry case which is also in a good condition with just some small marks and signs of wear. The handle and latches to close work well.

We include a copy of an instruction manual. All in all this is a good working Olympia SM9 in a wonderful condition which hasn't had much use at all.

"My Olivetti arrived a couple days ago. Got a chance to test it out and it works like a dream (you wouldn’t guess it was nearly half a century old). Thank you for including the original metal spools, it adds a great touch to the machine. Looking forward to adding another typewriter to the collection sometime soon..." - Jake
