A lovely off white and dark grey coloured Olympia Monica typewriter with off white keys , space bar and carriage trim and with mint green shift keys and carriage knobs . This is basically a SM8 model but does not have a Tab function .Olympia was a German brand of typewriter that was known for their great quality and ease of use and this one was made in West Germany in 1967. It has the Olympia logo on the front and the manufacturers details on the back and has the slightly larger Olympia " Pica " type giving you 10 letters to the inch . It types very nicely and has been professionally cleaned ,serviced, adjusted and tested . It is in full working order and is fitted with a new Group 1 ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on !
We can supply Group 1 typewriter ribbons from $12.50 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of Universal ribbons in other colour options. A ribbon will last you a long time and to give you an idea , in an office environment with someone using a typewriter professionally a ribbon would last them around 3 months .
This model has a metal casing and the whole front section lifts up to access the ribbon . The SM portables have a reputation as being "the writers " typewriter and this one certainly types very nicely .It does have a few very minor marks to the casing ,but it is generally in a very good condition . It measures 30 cms by 32 cms by 14 cms high .
It comes with a standard Olympia two tone creme and grey carry case which is also in a good condition with just some small marks and signs of wear . The handle and latch to close work well.
We include a copy of an instruction manual . All in all this is a good working Olympia in a lovely condition .
