This Hermes 2000 typewriter was made in 1954 and is in a stylish mid grey colour with a feint crinkle finish and has olive green keys, carriage knobs and space bar. Hermes typewriters were designed and made in Switzerland by Paillard before production moved to France and then to Brazil. They have a good reputation as wonderfully engineered and made machines, as you would expect from the Swiss. This one was made in Switzerland and is in full working order and types very well. It has the slightly larger " Pica " sized typeface giving you 10 letters to the inch.
This typewriter has been professionally cleaned, serviced, adjusted and tested. It is in full working order and is fitted with a new top quality American made Group 9 TW1 ribbon on metal spools so its all ready for you to start typing on.
We can supply Group 9 TW1 typewriter ribbons from $13.90 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of other colour options on Universal spools which will work on this machine or you can rewind onto the metal spools.
It is in a very good general condition for its age, with just some small marks and discolouration to the paintwork on the body in places mainly at the back and the front corners. The silver chrome work is also in a nice condition. It has the Hermes 2000 logo in silver on the front, the Hermes logo and the manufactures details on the back.
We include a copy of an original instruction booklet for the Hermes 2000 showing all its features and giving tips such as changing the ribbon. The body of the typewriter measures 27 cm by 30 cm by 12 cm high and comes with a smart carry case. The case is also in a good functional condition but does have some signs of wear, marks and discolouration. The handle and clasps to close work well and the carry case is fully functional and also has a key.
This is a lovely and well made working typewriter from a very popular and collectable brand.
