This wonderful Remington portable No 3 typewriter was made in the US in 1931 and is in a classic shiny black enamel finish with glass topped keys in white with black letters and silver chrome surrounds . It has the Remington logo in gold at the front in the centre and at the back. This one has the slightly larger Pica sized type giving you 10 letters to the inch.
The typewriter is in full working order and in a generally very good condition with just a few small marks to the paintwork and evidence of paint touch ups mainly just on the side edges close to the metal spools . There is some signs of wear to the platen ( roller ) at the far right hand edge but this does not affect the performance of the typewriter .This model also has a tab function and has a red tab key. We also include a photo copy of a Remington Portable instruction manual , which although for a slightly different model has many similar features to this one.
This typewriter has been professionally cleaned, serviced, adjusted and tested. It is in full working order and fitted with a new black ribbon so it's ready for you to start typing!
We can supply Group 1 typewriter ribbons when required at $12.50 each including postage. You would then rewind the new ribbon onto the existing metal spools. A ribbon will last you a long time and to give you an idea , in an office environment with someone using a typewriter professionally a ribbon would last them around 3 months .
The carry case is also in a good overall condition with just a few marks and signs of wear to the letterette covering in places . The original leather handle works well as does the latch to close. You can take the typewriter off it's base board if you wish by undoing the 4 screws at each corner.
The typewriter measures 28 cms across by 28 cms deep and 10 cms high .
This is a highly collectable working 1930's vintage typewriter with classic glass topped keys .
