1929 Rare Red Remington

$0.00 AUD

This wonderful rare two tone red coloured Remington portable No 3 typewriter was made in the US in 1929 and was originally we think made for the South American market as it has the wording "Almacenas Mogolion" on the front below the Remington logo both in gold and the Remington logo on the back .This one has the slightly larger Pica sized type giving you 10 letters to the inch.

The typewriter is in full working order and in a generally good condition with just a few small marks to the paintwork at the front edge , the back and on the side edges close to the metal spools. This model also has a tab function and has a red tab key. We also include a photo copy of a Remington  Portable instruction manual, which although for a slightly different model has many similar features to this one.

This typewriter has been professionally cleaned, serviced, adjusted and tested. It is in full working order and fitted with a new red and black ribbon so it's ready for you to start typing.

We can supply typewriter ribbons when required from $12.50 each including postage. You would then rewind the new ribbon onto the existing metal spools.

The carry case is also in a good overall condition with just a few marks and signs of wear to the covering in places on the inside and outside and has a wonderful rare red coloured interior. The original handle was missing so we have fashioned and fitted a new leather handle. You can take the typewriter off it's base board if you wish by undoing the 4 screws at each corner.

The typewriter measures 28 cm across by 28 cm deep and 10 cm high .

This is a highly collectable working 1920's vintage typewriter in a rare two tone red enamel colour.

"My Olivetti arrived a couple days ago. Got a chance to test it out and it works like a dream (you wouldn’t guess it was nearly half a century old). Thank you for including the original metal spools, it adds a great touch to the machine. Looking forward to adding another typewriter to the collection sometime soon..." - Jake
