A lovely two tone dark creme and light coffee coloured Willy Scheidegger Princess - Matic typewriter with creme keys , space bar and carriage knobs. Made by Keller & Knappich in West Germany in the 1960's for the Willy Scheidegger Swiss Typing School . When you signed up for your typing course you were obliged to purchase one of these machines . Originally it had plastic colour coded caps that fit over the keys forcing you learn the art of touch typing by not being able to see the actual keys . The caps are not included now but this one comes with an original instruction card as well as a course booklet. It is in full working order and we have given it a clean, service, adjusted and tested it as well as fitting a new ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on. It has the Scheidegger logo on the front left and the manufactures detail on the back.
GR1 typewriter ribbons can be purchased from many online suppliers or we can supply you with new ribbons when required . They generally cost around $10 including postage . However a ribbon will last you a long time . To give you an idea , in an office environment with someone using a typewriter professionally a ribbon would last them around 3 months.
This model has a metal casing with enamel paintwork which is in a good condition with only some very minor marks in places. It measures 30 cms by 30 cms by 8 cms high , making it a very compact portable typewriter.
It has a vinyl carry case which has some marks and signs of wear but the closure and handle both work well. It sits on the baseboard and you need to keep it on the base board for it to work properly .
This is a fabulous and rare Willy Scheidegger two tone 1960's Princess-matic typewriter and in a wonderful working condition.
