Facit was a Swedish typewriter manufacturer and this typewriter was designed by Sigvard Bernadotte who was a Swedish royal prince and a great -grandson of Queen Victoria .
This one was manufactured in the 1960's and is a light grey colour or as Facit it at the time called it " Viking Grey " and has dark green keys , and a light brown case with a green lining .It has the Facit badge on the front and name attached on the back of the metal body. It is in full working order We have given it a clean ,service , re lubricated it and fitted a new ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on .
GR1 typewriter ribbons can be purchased from many online suppliers or we can supply you with new ribbons when required . They generally cost around $10 including postage . However a ribbon will last you a long time . To give you an idea , in an office environment with someone using a typewriter professionally a ribbon would last them around 3 months.
The typewriter is in an extremely good condition with just a few very minor marks to the metal body.It measures 34 cms across by 30 cms deep and is 12 cms high . The case has some marks and scratches but is still very strong and in a good general condition . The lid detaches if required and the closure and handle work well .We include a copy of an original manual that shows all the workings of the typewriter and has some handy typing hints .
This is a lovely and well made working typewriter that is fabulous to type on as it has that Swedish design cache as well a a nice industrial look and appeal .Also with the attractive Facit lettering spaced out on the back !
