Typewriter, 1949 Smith Corona Clipper

This is a wonderful Smith Corona 5 series Clipper typewriter in a good working order and has a nice typing action. It was made in Canada in 1949 and has an all metal body in a dark moss green colour with dark green keys, lighter green shift , margin release and back space keys and brown carriage knobs. It has the Smith Corona logo to the front and the Clipper logo on the carriage as well as the standard Elite sized type face giving you 12 letters to the inch. There are some minor marks and discolouration to the paintwork mainly on the right side of the ribbon cover. Please note that the type head on the $ sign key has at some point been changed to a £ key, so although the key has a $ on it when typed it will print a £ sign.

This typewriter has been professionally cleaned, serviced, adjusted and tested. It is in full working order and is fitted with a new top quality American made Group 9 ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on.

We can supply Group 9 TW1 typewriter ribbons from $13.90 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of other colour options on Universal spools.

It comes with a smart wooden case with a covering. The typewriter locks in place for transit and it has a sound external catch and handle. The case is in a good condition with just some age related signs of wear.

The typewriter measures 30 cm x 32 cm x 12 cm. We also include a photo copy of an original instruction booklet.

This is a good working typewriter in a nice condition with a classic Mad Men look which is highly collectable.
