This Royal portable was made in the US in the 1920's and is in a lovely shiny black enamel colour . It is in an extremely good condition for its age with only a few very minor marks and signs of wear to the paintwork , mainly to the front bar. It has the old classic style glass topped keys with silver chrome surrounds in a black colour with vintage creme coloured numbers and letters .These are all in a very good condition with just some minor dust under the glass to a few . Please also note that in some of our images there is some reflection of the surrounds from behind on the black enamel of the typewriter.
It has the Royal logo on the front and on the carriage and manufacturers details on the back and comes with two metal spools .The silver chrome work is also in a nice condition but has lost some of its shine in areas .
The typewriter is in full working order, types well and we have given it a clean , service adjusted and tested it as well as fitting a new ribbon , so its all ready for you to start typing on .Its a very nice compact size being 27 cms wide x 28 cms deep x 11 cms high .
GR1 typewriter ribbons can be purchased from many online suppliers or we can supply you with new ribbons when required . We would recommend that you rewind the new ribbon onto the existing metal spools .They generally cost around $10 including postage . However a ribbon will last you a long time . To give you an idea , in an office environment with someone using a typewriter professionally a ribbon would last them around 3 months.
This one comes with its original black carry case which is in a generally good condition for its age and is fully functional
We also include a copy of an original manual .
This is a stunning 1920's Royal portable typewriter with glass topped keys in a good working order and a very good condition .
