Typewriter, 1956 Underwood Universal

This is a wonderful light blue coloured Underwood Universal " Quiet Tab " typewriter which was made in the US in 1956. . This one types with the slightly larger  sized  " Pica " font so has 10 letters to the inch and has dark grey keys , space bar and carriage knobs. It has a black panel at the front with an Underwood badge with " Golden Touch " on it . You push this badge to open the ribbon cover .

There are a few very minor marks to the metal body of the typewriter ,mainly on the left hand side of the ribbon cover , but generally this typewriter is in an extremely  good condition for its age . The silver chrome work has a nice shine  and it has metal spools and types well .

This typewriter has been professionally cleaned, serviced , adjusted and tested. It is in full working order and fitted with a new Group 9 ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on.

We also include a photo copy of an original instruction booklet .

We can supply Group 9 typewriter ribbons when required at $12.50 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black, blue and purple. You could then just rewind the new ribbon onto the existing metal spools.  A ribbon will last you a long time . To give you an idea , in an office environment with someone using a typewriter professionally a ribbon would last them around 3 months .

It comes with it's wooden black covered  carry case which is has a clasp to close at the front and a working handle .There is some discolouration ,signs of wear and some minor marks in places on both the inside and outside but this carry case is in a good functional condition.

The typewriter measures 32 cms by 30 cms by 14 cms high  .

This is a wonderful Mad Men style typewriter in a fabulous colour and in good working order .
